Steve Jarrett started SJMC, Inc. in 1997 because he saw a need for custom software development in the rapidly growing and complex world of mobile computing.

His philosophy of making things useful, affordable, and elegant is reflected in the craftsmanship of the products he designs and develops for clients.

Steve Jarrett has been working on the design and development of mobile computers since joining General Magic, Inc. in 1993. At General Magic, Steve worked as a Magic Cap Evangelist and as a licensing manager to Magic's Japanese partners. As acting Internet product manager at General Magic from 1995 to 1996, Steve directed the development and shipment of the world's first mobile graphical web browser.

After General Magic, Steve was one of the product managers on the award-winning, Windows Mobile-based Velo 1 Handheld PC and Nino Palm-size PC product lines at Philips Electronics. While at Philips, Steve invented Philips MobileSoft which in 1996 was the world's first online software distribution channel for mobile software.

Steve is a graduate of Stanford University.
