Microsoft Corporation wanted to offer a Pocket PC-based companion product for their popular Microsoft Money desktop finance application. The internal Money team recognized that they did not have the necessary experience with developing applications for mobile computers, and hired SJMC, Inc. on the recommendations of executives within the Microsoft Mobility division. Working in close partnership with the Money and Mobility teams, we defined the feature set, managed all of the development and testing, and were the primary user interface designer of the Windows CE companion application for Microsoft Money 2000. Microsoft Money for Pocket PC is the most sophisticated Windows CE application ever out-sourced by Microsoft and is the only application ever to synchronize relational data using the Microsoft ActiveSync architecture. Microsoft has chosen to bundle the product in the ROM of every U.S. and World-wide English Pocket PC.
